Li2go Is The Way To Go

Do you find it annoying that you have to bring your License with you everywhere you go?  Or that occasional feeling of getting in you car and realizing you forgot it, so you had to turn back around? Well you aren’t alone. Many people constantly forget their license on a day-to-day basis and it can be a pain. These days technology is evolving in so many different ways and aspects. As time goes on, our electronics can do more and more.  Today the modern day cell phone can run some of the same programs as a computer.  It is this reason why such applications such as Li2go will be able to function.

Ever thought of your license on your phone? Well soon that will be possible. For those who are just reading the blog, license to go also known, as Li2go is an application that keeps your license within your fingertips. It's meant to prevent any inconvenience a license may bring. Say a father rushed to pick his child up from school, but forgot his ID. Instead of panicking, he opened Li2go on his smartphone and everything was okay.  This application has evolved in many ways throughout this semester, but it’s finally at a point where it could be considered presentable.  

In order to make Li2go what it is today at first developing an idea for an application was the challenging part. I felt like there were endless amounts of options to choose from but none of them felt right. After days and hours of thinking of ideas I asked myself, what is something that would make ones life easier that they often leave behind? At first I thought keys, and then a cell phone but realized one would just end up failing, and I cannot re-create another find my IPhone.  So after coming up with Li2go during the semester the idea evolved in a few ways. I ended up switching the amount of cellphones to license ratio, decided what security measures the application will use, and how it will function on other operating systems such as Blackberry and Windows. The next big application, Li2go is almost a finished product.

Everyday a new application is created for some kind of smartphone.  The people who come up with ideas also spend many hours and weeks trying to create the best application.  Just like Li2go after weeks of preparation I finally thought of possible ideas in order to make this application a reality.  The first step has already been completed, coming up with my idea. The second step is to reach out to mobile app developers.  These are people who have previously made tons of apps and with their connections they could help me reach out to possible funders and other necessary connections I may need.  My third step is to reach out. Because my application deals with licenses I will have to get in contact with DMV’s across the country and have them create licenses with barcodes and RFID’s.  This way the phones will be able to be read and scan the ID’s.  Last but not least, because this deals with security I may have to get this passed by the government so I will compose a letter on my idea and hope for the best.

Overall this has been such a thought-provoking project. I plan on being an entrepreneur and creating applications similar to Li2go.  I cannot wait until it actually happens if everything works out as planned.  Overall Li2go is a revolutionary application and it will help millions of people never forget something so important to their everyday life.   Just remember Li2go is the way to go.

 Li2go requires many system programs that are needed in order to protect the secure information stored within the application.  Because the application contains information from your driver’s license it has access to your physical description.  Li2go will need computer security to make sure people will not be able to get a hold of someone else's identity and try to use their ID.  These days an enormous amount of identity theft goes around on a daily basis. It is such a vast problem, but thanks to computer security the users of li2go will not have to face or suffer any types of identity theft.

In what ways will computer security protect the information on Li2go you ask? Well that’s simple. Basically it will serve as a “security guard” for everyone’s license.  The computer security will monitor the activity the users access while using their license.  The application is programmed so that only one user will be able to swipe their license onto a device.  With the computer security backing up the pre-programed application this will prevent theft and any forms of file corruptions.  The security on Li2go will be completely secure, and will prevent software such as malware. 

 

As previously stated, the security within Li2go such as computer software will prevent hackers and software meant to gather ones information. For those who aren’t aware there are programs out there that are meant to hack into people’s information for various reasons such as malware.  Malware is used to disrupt computers, gather large amounts of computer content, while also hacking onto computer systems. Because Li2go uses computer security a user won’t experience worms, spyware, and other computer viruses that comes along with hackers. IOS software is known to prevent such activities, but android and blackberry users may want to know that their license is indeed securely safe with Li2go.

Today, computers and mobile devices use many different operating systems in order to perform and run the system software within the computer system. There are many different operating systems such as real-time, multi-user , multi-tasking , and mobile OS.  They all perform different functions that controls and manages the hardware and software as well as ways for applications to deal with actual computer hardware.  Without hardware many of the devices we use will not be able function when computer or mobile updates are introduced to the system. Li2go will use different operating system in order for the program to run smooth and swiftly.

Many people associate operating systems with, Macintosh and windows. They aren’t aware that operating systems has to do with the more technical aspect of computers.  People also think operating systems only pertain to computers, but in fact mobile devices use operating systems to work as well.  Smart phones use a operating system called, mobile OS regardless of if it is a Iphone , Android , Blackberry , or windows phone .  PDAs, tablets, and smart phones all depend on mobile OS to use features found in a personal computer with touchscreen features and many others. Li2go Will depend on various mobile 0S features so a person will be able to interact with their mobile device and use their license on their phones.

As previously stated Li2go will use the mobile operating system known as mobile OS in order to run.  Smartphones use operating systems to run applications. Many people may confuse the two but a application is different than an operating system in fact, it is computer software that could be found on a operating system. Li2go will rely on mobile OS and computer software within and operating system to run. When a user swipes their driver’s license it will rely on mobile 0S so that the user can use the touchscreen feature on the phone to pull up the license when needed. If the cell phone didn’t have mobile OS and various other operating systems such as multi-tasking or multi-user Li2go would not be able to work.  Thank God for operating systems.

What is Cloud Computing?
Today, many different kinds of computing and computer storage are being created on a year basis. In the past year or so cloud computing has become bigger than ever. For those who aren’t familiar as to what cloud computing is, it is the use of hardware and software over the Internet. It is called cloud computing because of the logo of the cloud, and the location of where everything is stored.  There are many different kinds of cloud computing some of the well known one includes IaaS, infrastructure as a service and PaaS , platform as a service . Common uses of both include a web server, database, virtual desktops, and Email.

With cloud computing such a booming form of new technology, it creates more resourceful ways to run applications. Instead of running LI2go myself, with cloud technology it will be ran over a shared data center.  This will prevent the hassle of a company trying to run a app themselves then potentially facing technical difficulties. When Li2go is available on the smartphone it will have no choice but to use cloud computing because many applications these days are ran through databases over Internet technology.  In many circumstances Li2go will depend on cloud computing.

When you first open Li2go a signal will be sent to IaaS and the software will begin to run. When the user swipes their license for the first time, the data and information behind the ID will store on cloud computing.  Li2go will be using cloud computing so that the person won’t have to always swipe their license. It also helps for when the passenger gets pulled over by the cops. The application will then again pull the information from the server allowing the cop to view the actual license on the phone.  Just like many other smartphone applications cloud computing will help shape the way Li2go is used.

Michael Vacirca is blogger as well as a social media and web consultant who has his own blogging website. He often enjoys blogging surrounding new and upcoming technology.  Often times he lets other people create blogs on his website as well. On September 13, 2012 Joe Pollicino blogged about the mystery behind apples launch event on September 12^th . The launch introduced the Iphone5, new generation iPods, and iOS6.  The author also spoke on the rumors of an Ipad mini and how the speculations were wrong.  

Joe Pollicino blogging style is very straight forward but interesting. He doesn’t throw out to much information, but enough to address the topic and capture the audiences interest.  The writing is also in some ways conversational, but that is what keeps it flowing and easy to follow.

Competitor 1 Overview:

The application 1password sold within the app store, is a new app that allows users to store passwords on your must used websites along with your everyday bank. 1Passweord also known for a wallet feature that lets users upload things they normally have in their wallets like drugstore cards, library cards, and even your license. The only thing 1Password’s license feature doesn’t work when you get pulled over by the cops. Li2go will be able to be used when the cops are around. Clearly this app found someway to mount the information of the license onto the phone, but clearly as it stated the license isn’t useable.   

Not only is there a problem with getting the cops to actually accept the License on the phone, 1Password only works within the appstore, Li2go will work across all platforms.  In order to have a successful application on a smart phone it is very smart to not only appeal to iPhone users but android as well. All successful apps such as facebook and instagram, are more than one mobile platform friendly.

Competitor 2 Overview:

 Because the Drivers Ed IPhone and android app has been currently pulled from the app stores, it is clear that there was an error in the making of this application. First off the application was made to help you study and pass your permit test but apparently at the end it displays a drivers permit.  Many argued that it could be taken off the phone and used as a legit ID card.   According to the makers of Drivers Ed app, that wouldn’t be possible. Although li2go isn’t an application that helps you ace your permit test, it will be able to store ones Drivers License. Eventually Li2go will come up with a security factor that doesn’t allow people to create a fake ID. Lets say someone screen shots it, the license scanner will be voided if printed out. Also, potentially the license on the smartphone can say only for smartphone uses only and when the license gets printed out it will appear on the license.  This will let the authority’s know if someone is carrying around a fake license or one that is for smartphone use only.

Cell phones continuously evolve every year. Now they are known as smart phones. The software and Hardware in today’s smartphone is better than actual computers used in 
previous years. Just like a computer, smartphones use hardware and computer forensics.  Li2go will have to use both hardware and computer forensics to operate efficiently. 

Computer Science & Li2go :

The application Li2go will be featured on smartphones, and will require computer forensics in order for the information of the license to be displayed.  For people who do not know, computer science is what cell phones use to back up many things such as text messages, Internet history, and location information.  After the person swipes their license, computer science will save the information.  This was when the user wants to use their license; they will not have to swipe again.

Hardware & Li2go:

The hardware on Li2go will be the scanner. The scanner that gets attached to the phone, somewhat like a bar code, will read the license after it has been swiped. Li2go requires precise hardware, or it will not function correctly. Smart phones also contain hardware or else they wouldn’t be able to run the way they do now. Such hardware includes, the software chips, battery, and a CPU.  Li2go will need the basic hardware that goes into a cell phone so that the application will actually run.
